Please Read

Allergen Information

Our kitchen handles milk, tree nuts, peanuts, and soy. While we clean thoroughly between batches and schedule nut-free products first in the day, we are a shared kitchen and we cannot guarantee that any product is free of cross-contact.

By product: caramels, toffees, and chews contain milk. Brittles and toffees contain tree nuts, except our pumpkin seed brittle, which is made without nuts. Fruit drops, lollipops, and gummies contain no dairy, no nuts, and no gluten ingredients. Our gummies are made with fruit pectin rather than gelatin, so they are suitable for vegetarians.

If you have a serious allergy, please email us at Seattlecandycompany@gmail.com before ordering and we will walk you through exactly how a given product is made.

Questions

Asked Across the Table

Do you have a store I can visit?

Not yet. We sell in person at farmers markets around Western Washington, which keeps our prices down and our candy fresh. The market schedule lists every booth we run.

Can I order online?

Not at the moment. You can, however, email us to reserve an order for pickup at any market on our schedule. We will hold it under the table with your name on it.

Do you ship?

We ship wholesale and custom event orders anywhere in Washington. We do not ship individual retail orders yet, mostly because caramel and a hot mailbox are a bad combination.

How long does it keep?

Caramels and soft chews are at their best within ten weeks. Taffy holds about three months. Brittle, toffee, hard drops, and lollipops keep six months in a sealed container. Every package is date-coded on the back.

How should I store it?

Cool, dry, and sealed. Do not refrigerate caramel — it pulls in moisture and turns sticky. A cupboard is better than a windowsill, and a car in July is the worst place on earth for a caramel.

Why is there no corn syrup in your candy?

Corn syrup makes candy easier to cook and much slower to spoil, which is why nearly everyone uses it. Cooking with cane sugar alone takes longer and gives us a shorter shelf life, but the flavor is cleaner and the texture is better. That trade is the whole point of the company.

Is your candy gluten-free? Vegan?

Our fruit drops, lollipops, and gummies contain no gluten ingredients and no dairy, and our gummies use fruit pectin rather than gelatin. Caramels, toffees, and chews contain butter and cream, so they are not vegan. We are a shared kitchen, so we do not make celiac-safe claims.

Do flavors change during the year?

Yes. Apple cider caramel and maple walnut toffee show up in the fall, Douglas fir tip lollipops in the spring, and berry flavors follow the actual berry season. What is on the table in July is not what is on the table in December.

Can you make something custom?

Often. Wedding favors, branded corporate boxes, and event candy tables are all things we do regularly — see custom orders for lead times and minimums.

Do you sell to shops?

We do, to a limited number of Western Washington accounts. The wholesale page has minimums, lead times, and an inquiry form.
